Feeding Program
Currently 800+ students are being fed through MMPs
feeding programs at Butong Elementary School. The
school was chosen to be a recipient of the feeding program inlate 2004. Since the implementation of the feeding program, there has been a noticeable change and improvement in student weight, attendance and test scores. The school also moved up from 8th to 1st place in the their district. The teachers and students of Butong Elementary School continue to express their gratitude to MMP for the ongoing financial support in feeding their malnourished students. MMP runs a non-profit daycare for 60 children which also has an ongoing feeding program. MMP’s missionaries had a chance to visit both schools in Butong.

On July 14, 2006, Fr. Fernando, Fr. Jeff, Fr. Galen and the rest of the missionary team celebrated mass with 500+ students and teachers at San Luis Public Elementary School. San Louis has been recently approved for a weekly feeding program that will provide their students with one meal each week, commencing in August. The school nurse has flagged malnourishment as a major health challenge affecting the entire student body. Eventually the program will expand to twice a week as funds permit. The school was also endowed with several boxes of school supplies, provided by MMP to distribute to those in serious need.

“We wish to give our heartfelt gratitude for the support given to our kids for materials and financial support. This gesture will surely benefit the children,” said District Supervisor, Dr. Erlinda M. Pasigpasigan.

The feeding programs are being administered and supervised by the Lipa Archdiocese Social Action Commission. MMP and LASAC hopes to extend the feeding program to an additional two schools by next year following an initial evaluation of the program.

Your assistance will help nourish both body, mind and souls of less fortunate young people in developing nations.
